Re: Latin | #2 | ||

Hello,
Oh, my God! I really don't like Latin. Anyway, one of my favourite Latin quotations is: "Repetitio mater studiorum est."/"Repetitio est mater studiorum." "Repetition is the mother of studies/learning." |

Hello,
You know, Romanian language is a Latin language (like Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.). I studied Latin (grammar) in high-school and I used to think it was extremely difficult. I mean, I can read a text, I know (?) the spelling rules, but this is all. In my opinion, Latin is as difficult as Maths/maths. Poetria, do you like Latin?! (Where are you from?) "De gustibus non (est) disputandum." Have a nice day. |

Re: I hate love | #12 | ||

8. "Have you ever been in love? Horrible, isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defences, you build up a whole armour, for years, so nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life ... You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' or 'how very perceptive' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a body hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. Nothing should be able to do that. Especially not love. I hate love". (Neil Gaiman)

Life without Love is like a harp without strings. (Dr. V. Para) - Chosen as Quote of the month - February 2009.
If you have it, you don't need to have anything else, and if you don't have it, it doesn't matter much what else you have. (James M. Barrie)

9. "Love is everything it's cracked up to be. That's why people are so cynical about it ... It really is worth fighting for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don't risk everything, you risk even more." (Erica Jong)
10. "To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving. Therefore to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer. To suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy then is to suffer. But suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be unhappy one must love, or love to suffer, or suffer from too much happiness. I hope you're getting this down." ( Woody Allen) |

"Love is not something that comes to you instantly, it is something that needs to be built; with strong foundations as support, effort as a floor, dedication as its walls, and care and communication for its rooftop." Anonymous
