Do you know what are Pizzoccheri?
If you like fresh tomatoes in pasta, you should try this recipe
In stead of Pizzoccheri ( which is a kind of pasta )you can use another type of pasta. for one dish you need(then you can increase the amount): 80g of pasta, a small tomato, an half onion, some peas or 'fave'(are a kind of pulse vegetables), parsley, salt, pepper, some cream (not sweet!) and some poppy seeds. this recipe is very fast and easy. you cooking the peas in boiling water for few minutes. then, you cut the onion and cooking it in a frying pan with olive oil. when they're brown you can add the other ingredients.(cut tomato and ecc..) pasta has to cook for max 8- 10 minutes! it hasn't be brunt. then you add the pasta with(can I write with?)the sauce. in the end add poppy's seeds. |

Origins of pasta has been disputed for a long time. Someone says it has the roots in Oriental tradition and it was imported in Italy by Marco Polo, an
important Venetian merchant and one of the first Occidentals who reached China through the silk road.
However there are many documents, dated a century before the age of this explorator, which prove that pasta was already known by Italians, in particular it was produced in Sicily, near Palermo, and sold all over the mediterranean basin. Despite tomato had arrived in Europe since the dicover of the American continent, it is only in the seventeenth century that pasta was combinated with tomato sauce, because previously tomato had been considered a poisonous vegetable. The combination between pasta and tomato has been a gastronomical revolution because formerly pasta was served with no dressing or as a side. Pasta was not born as an upper classes' meal: it had been eaten only by the poors and by hands. Only several years latersomeone invented a fork with four prongs so pasta pasta could be served and eaten also in the royal courts. Today the Italian average pasta intake is about 28 kg pro capita per year. @mikke Actually sweet pasta exists. In many Italian regions there are specialities which imply egg fresh pasta stuffed with a sweet mixture. e.g. Cappellacci are a kind of pasta stuffed with a mixture made with pumpkin, parmesan and crumbled biscuits (they are called AMARETTI and actually they are more bitter than sweet because they are made with almonds). In other regions is quite common dressing pasta with currant or pine nuts, among other ingredients. I don't know if "Genoa's pesto" is known abroad, but it is a quite sweet dressing. big chefs also add cocoa powder in the dough of egg pasta and they make cocoa lasagne, usally dressed with melted butter and sage or with fowl ragout, but it isn't commonly used in Italy at all...it's an extravagance of the most rated chefs (and most exepansive restourants :-)...and I am not looking forward to taste them!) I hope that my explanation about pasta turns out to be understandable..I fear I've done a mess with tenses :-( |

I like English food. I like fish and chips, but I need salt for it and ketchup. I dont like with vinegear...
I eat pudding like for me is a little bit to sweet.... Sometimes I eat tost, eggs with becon and I drink coffie with milk. I dont like tea with milk (it is popular in England)... Every day we eat sanwiches. I think that English sousages arent good, we have better in my country (realy)... I like Italian food for example:spaghetti, pizza, lazzagne...etc... In English markets are lots od salated...(cheapper and healthy) we like Coleslaw.... Can you chack my sentences Lynne, please... |

I eat puddings, but for for me they are a little too sweet. Sometimes I eat toast, eggs with bacon and I drink coffee with milk. I don't like tea with milk (it is popular in England). Every day we eat sandwiches. I think that English sausages arent good, we have better in my country (really). I like Italian food, for example: spaghetti, pizza, lasagne, etc. In English markets there is lots of salad, it's cheap and healthy, we like coleslaw. Lynne, can you check my sentences, please. |
