My country is Bulgaria and the answer of your question is YES, there is consequences arising from world financial crisis but the official opinion of our government is " everything is fine. Our economy will resist, there is no place for panic ". Yes, maybe they don't want to have a panic among the public, but according to the circumstances we must to be prepared to respond appropriately (adequately). P.S. Apologize for spelling and grammatical errors in advance

Financial Crisis
Interesting topic. I live in Spain and the Economy is not my strong point, but these days everybody can comment on the crisis, so there it is my opinion. We're in an economic recession period, it is obvious, but I think these kind of periods are cyclical throughout history therefore I am only a little worried about the financial crisis. Rich countries are getting richer and poor countries are becoming poorer. Human nature, stupid politicians, ... who knows? Financial crisis have changed the world permanently, sometimes to better, sometimes to worse. Nara, I think there is no solution for this problem, but I wish I was wrong. |

My country is Turkey and we used to effect about all of crisis.
Capitalism is a non-fair system, companies control the world but humans can't control the companies. Is there a alternative system? Maybe. I don't know. |

A bit of socialism and a bit of capitalism is the only thing that seems to make sense to me.
And never forget that humans run the companies. Humans can certainly control the companies, but first humans must learn to control themselves. PS - unfair |

Hi,
It so sad hear that all the prices go down and we might get the more cheaper fuel for our vehicles..rhetorical;). We should sometimes understand that the money isn't the most important thing in the world and we don't need a new family houses or new big family cars. It usually go that way we want things so badly that we don't see any farther. I'm so happy that we have a financial crisis and we might face the recession and lay off. But I hate that as poor people in Africa need to suffering because of that some of American's banks had completely broke. Hope things go the better way and our economy is balanced soon.. |

Hi Jarp,
As you say, needs vs wants. They change. My grandmother's needs were very simple. My needs? Sometimes I think I'm greedy about what I think I need. What we must remember, as some people crow about the financial crisis (and believe me some people are really happy about it). There are many innocent people, with small needs, who will suffer greatly because of the greed of a few. |

Hi Ghost,
It was very noticeable in the UK. There are closing down sales everywhere. Even Woolworths (the bastion of bargain shops) has closed down. I went in to have a look at the sale, but it was too depressing for me to buy anything (even at 70% off). I just felt for the people who are about to lose their jobs through no fault of their own. I hope you find that your current job improves. I really don't think this is the right time to make major changes in employment. |

I live in Turkey and I can easily feel that the global crisis also affected us even though the goverment claims the contrary.
Our prime minister says "Don't panic, the crisis will just go past us.", but the reality is not the same. Many companies have let many people go and we fear a worse wave is on the way. Interest rates have risen, bank loans are getting recalled for higher interest rates. And my debt is also bigger now |

Believe it or not interest rates in the UK are at their lowest since the Bank of England was formed, 1.5% p a. It's a funny old world, isn't it?

Well, I'm afraid God is going to punish the poor countries too....:-)
As a matter of fact, times of financial crisis are worst for poor than rich, as History teaches. |

I don't think of any of this as "punishment", it's just inevitable. What goes up, must come down.

Yes, I won't avoid punishment. Or I am already punished. I committed many sins in my life

Reading again the whole matter ( of course I agree with you about punishment, Lynne) what is exactly a staff trimmer (on the top) ?
I've been looking for this morning in dictionary.com but I haven't found so far. |
