Lynne, among the cinema tips has been the "Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens too. I am a big fan of that story and I was wondering if I can get that story on a DVD as well?

I thought Penelope Cruz spoke good English but I found out she didn't when she was giving her speech on this year's Oscars. (She has Spainish accent.)

But there are still many actors can speak perfect English even though their first languages are not English, such as Charlize Theron and Marion Cotillard.

Who else do you find can well English?

I watched "Jane Eyre" 2006. As I didn't catch one sentence I tried to find English subtitles. At first, I found only a Polish version but thinking that it could be also helpful in emergency, I searched for the sentence in question. The translation was to the effect:

Udawałyśmy, że żywiła|namiętność do rasowych koni. - we pretended that she had a passion for pedigree horses.

I would so like to get some BBC programms but I`m sorry I only get BBC news. Have any of you an idea how I could get them without to pay (premiere for example) Maybe it is possible to get them via Internet but I don`t know how.

If you get the German channel you have surely seen the ad about beer (brandname "henken").

A couple shows its new flat. The wife goes with her friends to her clothes closest and the ladies are crying for fun because they have never seen such a large room. At the very same moment next door the men crying too with much more joy because the landlord is showing to them his room where he stored plenty of beer where the shelves have light.

Yesterday I brought a DVD named "the Queen" home. Actress is Helen Mirren. It was really late at night but I put the DVD into the player and watched some time. I was a bit disappointed about they have shown the Queen`s life.
Lynne, in case you have also seen this film, would you agree with it! Or do you see the Queen the other way about.
I would like to hear your meaning?

The film "Der Appartement-Schreck" became broadcoasted on telly yesterday! A young couple moved in a dream flat but their neigbhour was an older lady and not so easily to live with.

Stephen King's The Mist

I just watch Stephen King's "The Mist" and it was interesting. Not so much the action and gory scene, there were some scenes that are scary and the monsters were scary also. The compelling part of the movie was the behavior of the people in the movie. The movie got into how different people would cope with a difficult times to the world and people. If you have watch it or will watch it discuss it here.
