Do you know what Ireland I mean? Or should I add I am from north Ireland. I often read in books/news that someone is from Ireland but I am not sure what part of Island /he/she lives.

I've always been fascinated by Asian countries. But when I started learning Chinese it became a passion. I love Chinese and Japanese food. Yesterday I saw a report about Prince William and his girl friend. Oh my God he is such a handsome young man and she of course too!
In England it is common to put girls in famous (expensive) schools where they can learn how to find and marry a rich boy.
Lynne I didn`t use the word privat school because that wouldn`t be right. Still I would like to know how do you call that sort of school?
For some parents there it is important to get into a rich family. I know in England live...

I`ve just learnt that a well-known fashion rule here in the U.S. forbids wearing white shoes or carrying white purses after Labor Day, the first Monday in September.

Therefore I cleaned and brushed my pair of white shoes yesterday and stored them.

I thought this might be interesting to you and also to me sometimes~
In China, if my mom's friend asks us to stay and have dinner together, we would usually say no first(like no it's really going to be a huge trouble to you) and then the host would say" come on, there is nothing troublesome." And then there would normally be a couple of denials and reinvitings before the final decision is made. Usually the result varies from case to case.

Who wants to discuss about European Heliotrope, date June 21th, in your country.

In my area it is common to light a fire on some mountains top. At that time the nights are getting longer and therefore the days are getting shorter. People who are goot at food are going up to the mountain and watch the fire. Even the church is celebrating Sacred Heart of Jesus, tomorrow.

cultural shock?

I know a friend who just came back from Australia and he told me some cultural shocks that he had in Australia which goes like this: if he wants to buy something, let's say from a vender, worth $5,15 and he first gives the vender $10 and then $0.15. Instead of getting back $5, he got a frown from the vender, because the vender thinks he is crazy by giving the money for two times which makes things worse. Is that really true in Australia or even in western culture? Thank you~
