Postal gold merchants are advertising all over the place including on the internet. The idea is you phone them and they send you a pre-paid envelope, you send them any gold you don't want (what a strange concept) and they tell you what they're willing to pay or send you money. There are even gold buying parties, where you take your gold along.

I thought we'd been in recession for some time now, but seemingly that was just a "slow down". Now, following the release of government figures, we are in it, right up to our necks.

Or should I say "the budge". Everyone in the UK is on a budge at the moment. Perhaps shortening the word to make it sound trendy, makes it less painful.

And it is going to get very painful according to the OECD (the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development). They forecast that economic development will not so much develop as decline, it is forecast to fall by 0.4% in the 30 countries of the OECD and poor old Britain will be hit worst:-
